Elm Cottage is in a quiet location in Alcombe on the outskirts of Minehead – ideally situated for walking on Exmoor or visting the many beauty spots of West Somerset. Dunster, Selworthy,and Porlock are within easy reach and local facilities at Alcombe and Minehead are in walking distance.
Elm Cottage has a spacious sitting room with digital TV, DVD and radio. Wi-fi broadband access is available. There is a fitted kitchen with fridge freezer, electric cooker, microwave and washer-dryer, a breakfast nook, a modern tiled bathroom and a double bedroom.
Guests have use of the sunny garden and patio, and off-street parking. Bedding, towels, toiletries heating and hot water are included.
Elm Cottage is 800m from the boundary of the Exmoor National Park. Local walks on Alcombe Common and Grabbist Hill give views of the Quantocks and Exmoor, and over the Bristol Channel. The Minehead terminus of the West Somerset Railway is nearby, with steam trains to Bishops Lydyeard on a scenic route along the coast and past the Quantocks. Minehead Golf Club, with its excellent links course offers a warm welcome to visitors.
Further afield, the medieval village of Dunster, with its castle, is just a few minutes drive away. To the east are the Quantocks and the fossil beach at Kilve. North Hill and Selworthy Beacon offer good walking with fine views. The South West Coast Path begins on the sea front at Minehead. The North Devon resorts of Lynton and Lynmouth can be reached by a scenic drive through Porlock and across the moor. A little further on is the spectacular Valley of the Rocks.
